The Association de Recherche Ouest Africaine (AROA), on behalf of its member associations (The West African Research Association (WARA), the West African Research Center (WARC), and the Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC) ) would like to thank you for your recent submission to the grant committee. The Travel Grant awards were generally of a high quality. Unfortunately, we have limited funds, and are able to award only a few per academic year.
We would like to encourage researchers who are not among the grantees to re-apply for future consideration (candidates should send their application from July 1st to September 15th 2010). As this is our tenth year it is up to us to demonstrate that there is a great demand for these grants by consistently demonstrating the significant demand coming from West Africa, we have a better chance of securing additional funding to increase the amount available for grants.

Write us if you have any questions, at warc_croa@warc.sn

Awardees should contact Jennifer Yanco the WARA Director for the continuation related to the grants.
